p365- Summer has arrived!

June 11th
Starting our summer off we a bang!  We are trying to visit as many parks in our area as possible this summer. This was our first stop.  The girls had a blast and ask almost daily to go to a park.

June 12th
I'm off with a great start on my summer crafts!  This was a taggie blanket I made for my newest nephew.  He is four months old and loves grabbing things- its perfect!

June 13th
A visit to another park and the zoo!  These are the new warthogs at our local zoo. It was a quick visit before the high heat hit!  I'm sure we will be back several times this summer!

June 14th
FINALLY!  I finished the quilt for my little nephew.  It turned out so cute!  It's my largest machine quilted project so far- I've learned so much.  Can't wait for another project!

June 15th
Band Aids=Stickers right?!?!  I was putting laundry away and I found Miss Sweet Pea decorating herself with Band Aids.  Silly girl!

June 16th
What a sweet big sister. .. putting "lip stick" on her sister.

June 17th

p365- Light show, an end of a chapter, and the beginning of summer!

June 4th
We had an amazing light show tonight!  We rarely have big thunderstorms with lots of lightning- this was probably one of just a few summer storms to pass through.  The girls and I had a blast sitting on the front porch watching it.  When it first started we were on the back patio and Pumpkin saw Papa out on his porch, she asked "is Papa doing that?" (meaning the flashes of light).  Too funny!  He must be a pretty amazing Papa to make lightning.
(Sorry bad picture quality- off cell phone)

June 5th
Pumpkin and I planted seeds back in April. I didn't expect much, especially after they were neglected while we were in Hawaii. This beautiful flower came from one of her seeds. She loved seeing her beautiful flower, but was too busy playing with water to take a picture!

June 6th
Not many 5 year olds I know can hide in a laundry basket! This was the beginning of a stage that was going to last through the month!

June 7th
The stage of fort building!!! Just like her Daddy when he was young. We have built many forts in our living room. She likes to be completely covered. Trust me she is under those cushions- she was proud of her pattern of pillows.

June 8th
I had to work graduation as my school. I was stationed at the end of the center aisle at the very bottom of the photo. Congrats Class of 2011!!! This was one of my favorite classes.
(Not my photo- credit goes to Ron Webb.)

June 9th
Miss Pumpkin got to go to work with Mommy for the afternoon. She loved it! We ate Taco Bell, watched Toy Story, drew on my whiteboard, playing with a bunny named Chewey, and she signed her first yearbook!

June 10th
Last day of Preschool- a bittersweet day. So proud of my girls. Pumpkin will begin kindergarten in the fall and Sweet Pea is going to attend a different preschool closer to home. We have loved our current preschool, but this new on is an opportunity we cannot pass up!  I've heard that it is a fantastic school and I'm so excited for her to begin! Next year is going to have a lot of changes for my girls with two new schools and different schedule. Thank goodness my teaching schedule is easier next year!

p365- Lady bugs, sickie bugs, silly bugs!

May 28th
We headed up the mountain this weekend to have a cousin weekend at the cabin.  The girls had a blast playing at the cabin although we were trapped inside most of the weekend from the cold weather.  It actually snowed on Memorial Day weekend!  Pumpkin loved finding the lady bugs outside on the deck while we were outside before the snow.  This one became her little pet until bedtime.

May 29th
More cabin fun!  We took my friend LD up to the cabin.  She loves to say that she is not good with kids, but my kids prove her wrong!  They both love her and even ran to her when they had an owie that needed kissing!  Sweet Pea loved showing LD the leapster!

May 30th
Pumpkin used to be scared of these puppets that my mom brought up to the cabin (she is still scared of the monkey!).  We were cracking up with the girls special voices while they played with the puppets!  Who knew Pumpkin could have a deep voice?!?

May 31st
Bath time!  Trying for some silly hair styles!

June 1st
Poor Sweet Pea picked up a flu bug from her cousin while at the cabin.  It wiped her out pretty good and she was not her usual ball of fire for several days.  Daddy and her spent the day together trying to recover.

June 2nd
So it's June and you need snow gloves, knitted hat and scarf to do school work right?  Okay it's just pretend school work, but she was very serious about it!

June 3rd
She graduated!!!!  From preschool that is.  Here is Miss Pumpkin with her preschool teacher.  We have loved having her as Pumpkin's teacher this past year.  We've known her for over 10 years and she is a very special lady to us.  She has loved on Pumpkin and taught her about the love of Jesus- could we ask for anything more??  We don't think so!  This was Pumpkin's smile as she walked across the stage- she was so excited.

Happy 10 years of Lego building!

It's pretty amazing that ten years ago we were just starting on our adventure as a married couple (are we really that old?!?!). Five moves, living with both sets of our parents at different times, two precious little girls, a NICU stay, a wound vac, more stitches than we can remember, a hit and almost run by a drunk driver, camping trips, Nerf guns and paintball, five scrapbook albums, and a trip to Hawaii that was ten years in the making! Who knows what the next ten years will bring but I'm sure another ten scrapbooks and maybe a blog will capture many of our memories!

p365- Exploring the Great Outdoors! + the Panda Store!

May 22nd
We headed out to the ranch with our cousins to see the new horses.  So many baby horses!  My girls are pretty good a climbing rail fences!  So much fun. . .can't wait to go again!

May 23rd
Okay so I messed up again and didn't take a picture. . .So here is another pictures of the horses.  They are so precious!

May 24th
We have been working hard in our backyard for awhile putting in sprinklers, getting ready for grass, and just getting things back to how they should look.  That means lots of evenings outside with Daddy.  I enjoy just going out and taking pictures!  This is just a sweet photo of Sweet Pea looking at Daddy and waiting for her turn.

May 25th
Another night outside with Daddy.  Miss Pumpkin was put to work by Daddy.  She loved helping!

May 26th
Pumpkin was lucky to have her own special day today.  Daddy picked her up early from school and they went to get pizza together.  She loved her little personal pizza and is still talking about it.  They sent me a video at work of her driving her jeep through the water in the back yard.  When we got home we continued the fun with Sweet Pea riding in the jeep!

May 27th
The Panda Store!!!!  All week Pumpkin was asking to go to the Panda store.  We drive by it on a regular basis but never stop by.  Something about a building with red awnings and a panda on it makes a 5 year really want to go inside!  I don't know if she knew what to expect, but she loved it!  It was even better that Grandma, Grandpa, and her cousin was able to join us!

p365- Birthday, baby horses, and a budding stylist!

May 15th
Happy Birthday to our miracle girl! Can you believe she is five years old?!?!? Amazing. She loved her party with all of her family and cousins. Here she is with her two cousins that are the same age.

May 16th
Did you know a dog can be used as a chair? Sweet Pea was cracking me up by sitting on this dog all day!

May 17th
This girl is definitely her daddy's daughter- always climbing and jumping off of things. This is her sliding off the fireplace and doing a back somersault!

May 18th
Almost made it a year without using Old Reliable (our nebulizer). She had a nasty cough which prompted her to ask to use it. Truly amazing how quickly this helped her out!

May 19th
This girl has style that is unique to her! She loves hats and shoes!

May 20th
We went with the cousins out to the ranch to see the baby horses. So many cute horses! The girls loved looking at them and running around the ranch. Something we need to do more of!

May 21st
My coworker has a very unique doorstop. Makes me laugh!

p365- Cinderella, Cinderella!

May 8th
Happy Mother's Day!  Here is our queen with her royal court!  This was our third (or fourth?) year having a tea party with our mom and my sister's mother-in-law.  We always enjoy our tea and then have a project.  This year our project was making stepping stones. They all turned out so cute and now our mom can add them to her garden where she has stepping stones with our other nieces handprints.
I know they don't look excited, but the girls had a blast.  I think they were mad in this picture that we made them get off the trampoline.
May 9th
Oops!  No picture today so I had to substitute one.  This is Miss Pumpkin with her newest cousin.  This was her first time holding him since she hasn't wanted to since he was born in Feb.  He looks so big on her lap!
May 10th
I finally made it!!!!  I was invited to be a sponser for the Top 20/CSF banquet for my school.  I was honored to be chosen and this student is very special to me.
(Picture to come. . .waiting for her mom to email me!)

May 11th
My mom decided to pick up Pumpkin from school and have a special afternoon with her.  She was in heaven at Grandma's house.  They went to Taco Bell for lunch, played in the toyroom, watered plants, and enjoyed swinging on the porch.  Sweet Pea and I joined them later that day.  They all decided to sit on the walkway and watch the ducks on the lake (ducks in the water in front of the boat if you look closely).

May 12th
My silly girl who loves to dress up!  Complete with mommy's new necklace and heels!  (bad picture quality from cell phone)

May 13th
This is my monkey.  She loves climbing over the rail on her bed and flopping down.  I guess this goes with the excitement of having a big girl bed.  Two minutes after this picture was taken, she ran around to do it again, tripped over her own feet and got a huge goose-egg on her forehead from hitting the crib.  Poor girl!  She's just too wild!
May 14th
From soot to ballet princess!  She spent the morning outside with Daddy helping him with the new sprinkler lines.  She was in pure heaven!
But then we had a quick change and she became my little ballet dancer!  She had her first recital that night.  She looked adorable and I'm sure would have been so cute dancing, but her nerves got the best of her.  :(   So proud of her though for sticking with the class and getting out of her comfort zone at times!
